1.Why do you think the U.S.A and the European countries have dominated the medals table. Give your reasons?

1. China is actually coming second in the medal table and Great Britain third. I think these three countries are at the top because they are big countries which have lots of people.
ReplyDelete2. (i) I think that is because these Asian countries have a lot of money to train their athletes.
(ii) Because they have less people and less money and they don't have enough money to make big stadiums and stuff to practice in.
3. No I don't think so because we are a very small country and probably don't have enough money to make all the stadiums and other stuff that's needed like the opening and closing ceremonies.

1.I think U.S.A dominated the medals table because they have a lot of people in their country that are competing in the Olympics and they are taking part in a lot of events.Also that's the same thought with the European countries.
ReplyDelete2.(i) Because they are very pushy with their people and kind of make people do it and they push people to their limits so they get it right all the time.
(ii) Maybe they don't mind to much about they winning they just to their best and a least they tried and got to be in the Olympics.
3.Yes I think NZ will hold the Olympics but it might be much later on in life and also I think it's to do with who wins the Olympics and how good your country is at hosting the Olympics and how big your country is because it's a big thing to host.

3.I don't think so because there aren't much gigantic stadiums or athletic fields and there is no giant swimming pool for swimmers.

(ii)They do have the same size population but are poorer,so they cannot have the best coaches and can't have the coaches for the same amount of time.
3.I don't think NZ will ever hold the olympic games because we are very small compared to other countries,and a whole lot poorer.The bigger and wealthier countries are the ones most likely to hold the medals table.

1)For NZ(New Zealand) we have got not much popularity and some other country's have got alot of popularity so they have alot of medals.

The "other" Asian countries have not dominated because they are smaller and poorer and don't have as many athletes as the bigger Asian countries.
3. I don't think New Zealand will ever hold the Olympic Games because we are too small and we don't have all the facilities like stadiums.

3. New Zealand is small and we don't have as much money to spend on the olympics as London, but I think New Zealand was great at holding the Rugby World Cup, in my opinion, so I think we could hold the olympic games. But it is also a long way for all the other countries to send their athletes here.

I think we might be able to get into the top three but I don't think we would be able to top the medal table because we are a small country and we are improving a lot but so are lots of other countries I think we'll be able to beat some to the top spot because we are improving quickly and also since all the kids have had inspiration from the Olympics children are getting sports crazy!
